新任命總統顧問 Kellyanne Conway 週四告訴 CNBC 說，面臨重新選舉的民主黨議員將會協助通過稅改法案。
於週四稍早甫獲任命為川普顧問的 Conway 將減稅案與共和黨前總統布希的減稅案相提並論。
她說：「在許多民主黨參議員的協助下，布希於 2001 年 6 月得以推動他的減稅案。這些參議員中，有許多位將於次年，即 2002 年，參與選舉。」
她指出，「我們預見 2018 年將出現類似的情況，」意指 25 位參議員將於 2018 年參與選舉，其中 10 位係在川普於 2016 年贏得選舉的州參選。僅有 8 位共和黨議員將於 2018 年參選。
「我認為這些民主黨參議員將會審慎思考是否該支持這項減稅法案，」Conway 繼續說道，她曾擔任川普的競選經理人。「他們將很難抗拒這項重大的經濟投資案件。」
